FAA Medical Certificate

Every student in the Aviation Program is required to have an FAA Medical Certificate Second Class . This is a physical conducted by an FAA medical examiner (AME) who will check out your physical health, mental health, and criminal background history. It MUST be done by an AME; you cannot go to your regular doctor. A Second Class Medical is good for one year from the date that it is issued, and usually costs you abou t $100. Please go to https://medxpress.faa.gov/medxpress/ to begin your medical certificate application (required and will expedite the process). Then, call your AME to make an appointment; to find one near you, please use the following links: http://www.faa.gov/pilots/amelocator/ or http://flightphysical.com Note: Fixed -Wing applicants interested in the SkyWest Pilot Pathway Program are encouraged to get a First Class Medical, as this will be required later. /n
