Occasionally we see the following error when trying to get into Banner Self Serve (aka Registration/Grades/Financial Aid).
"External User ID Can not be determined"
To fix this problem, you can do one of three things:
- Close your browser, then re-open it and log in again.
- Clear your browser's cookies.
- Use a different browser. If you're using Firefox, try Chrome, or vice versa.
Only one of the three is sufficient to fix the problem. You do not need to do all three.
The root of the problem is a corrupt cookie in your browser. Closing your browser clears some cookies automatically. It is the easiest option if you don't have an alternative browser installed on your computer.
