The calendar automatically incorporates all of the assignments in all of your courses into one calendar. Users can filter courses to make the information more manageable. Users can also create events and make or sign up for appointment times.
Access the calendar by selecting the Calendar button in the pane on the left.
Navigating the Calendar
View your calendar by the week, month, or day (agenda) by selecting the buttons in the top right corner. Select the arrows in the top left corner to navigate to previous or future weeks/months/days depending on the view you have selected in the top right corner. Select the Today button in the top left corner to return to the page with that day's date. You can also use the small calendar in the pane on the right to navigate to different days or view dates that are not visible in your current view.
Creating Events/Assignments
Select the + button in the top right corner or select a specific date on the calendar.
To create an event, stay on the Event tab. Fill out the pop-up box. Use the Calendar drop-down menu to select a course or your individual calendar. Select Submit to create the event as-is or More Options to add details and/or an address.
To create an assignment, select the Assignment tab. Type in a title and then use the Calendar dropdown menu to select a course. Use the Group dropdown menu to select in which assignment group the assignment belongs. If your assignment is ready to go, select the Publish switch to publish the assignment, and then select Submit. To add more details, select More Options.
Editing Events/Assignments
To edit or delete an event or assignment, select the item and then select Delete or Edit in the bottom right corner.
To edit the date of an event/assignment, drag and drop the item to a new day.
Scheduling Appointments
Select Scheduler in the top right corner to view and create appointments. Go to Using the Scheduler (next tutorial) for more information on the Scheduler tool.
Filtering the Calendar
To view events/assignments from one or more specific classes, select or deselect the box next to the name of the class in the pane on the right. Grayed-out courses will not appear on the calendar.
Customize Color Code
Each course is designated its own color code. The personal events you add yourself also have their own color code. To customize the designated colors, select the three dots on the right side of the pane. Select the color you would like or type in the code for an unlisted color. Then select Apply.
Undated Items
To view assignments/events without an assigned date, select Undated Events to open the drop-down list. The items will be color-coded according to the course in which it is.
Drag and drop events you created from the Undated Items pane to a day on the calendar to give it a date. You can also drag and drop dated events on the calendar into the Undated Items pane to remove the due date.
Share the Calendar
To copy all the calendar events and information to other calendar apps, select Calendar Feed at the bottom of the pane on the right and copy the given URL and paste it into your chosen calendar app.
Strike-Throughs
Faculty: assignments show a strike-through once all of the submissions have been graded.
Students: assignments show a strike-through once the assignment has been submitted.
SUU Academic Calendar

The Scheduler is a function of the calendar that allows instructors to create appointment groups and students to sign up for an appointment within the group. This tutorial will show students how to sign up for an appointment.
Step 1
Navigate to the Calendar and then select Scheduler in the top right corner. Find the appointment group for which you want to sign up and select the sign up link in yellow on the right.
Step 2
You will see a list of all of the events on your calendar in addition to available appointment times; these events are named 1 Available, 2 Available, etc. Use the list of courses in the pane on the right to filter which events you want to show up in the middle section. Select the colored square to remove or add that courses events to the list.
Step 3
Select an available appointment time to claim that time.
Step 4
A window will appear showing the details for that appointment such as the time and location. Type in some comments if you would like and then select Reserve.
Step 5
You will see a message in green at the top if your appointment was successfully reserved.
To reschedule or cancel an appointment, select the appointment time and select Un-reserve in the window that appears. A removal confirmation window will then appear. Type in a reason for deleting the appointment (optional) and then select Delete.
To message other students who have signed up for the same appointment (if any), select the appointment time and then select Message Students in the window that appears. Type in a message and then select Send.
