Description:
The Space Dynamics Laboratory is seeking qualified candidates for a FT laboratory assistant position in the Field Deployment Laboratory located at Kirtland Air Force Base in Albuquerque, New Mexico. This work supports the U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL), and focuses on supporting research in the area of ionospheric impacts on RF systems and techniques to measure and forecast those impacts.
Qualifications:
The applicant should have the ability to work well in a research laboratory environment and manage various hands-on technical problems. Relevant skills include assembly of RF cables and antenna systems, instrument integration, soldering, metal work, machining, troubleshooting electronics, debugging data-acquisition systems, and handling sensitive precision equipment. Occasional travel may be necessary to support research campaigns at various globally distributed locations. Knowledge of or experience with RF systems is advantageous. An AS or BS degree in a related technology field with 3-5 years of experience in a lab environment is desired. US citizenship is required. The ability to obtain and hold a Department of Defense security clearance is required.
