Description:

Are you a detail-oriented candidate with the knowledge to perform analytical and administrative duties in support of central business development functions? If so, SDL would love to speak to you. As a business development analyst at the Space Dynamics Laboratory, you will support program managers in the development of proposals as needed. We anticipate that specific duties will include the following: 1. Support the Director of Business Development in his role as a clearinghouse for new contacts and ensures follow-through on time-critical deliverables. 2. Assist program managers in each of SDL’s operating divisions to find and follow up on leads, identify contracting vehicles, write proposals, and follow up until the pursuit is complete. 3. Coordinate meetings and visits, both when customers visit SDL and when SDL visits customers. Assist in organizing SDL tours for business development purposes. 4. Develops and tracks the business development budget for office overhead and unallowable accounts. Reports proposal costs to capture managers and division directors on a monthly basis ( or on a weekly basis as necessary). a. Opens system of record for all business transactions, including index numbers and providing access to team members 5. Understand what is in the business development funnel report, coordinate with the Proposal and Communications Manager and BD Director regarding what are priority/"front page" report items, including meeting agenda, recent trip reports, upcoming events, and the "Top 10" prospecting List. 6. Stays abreast of business development activities that need support or coordination. 7. Supports BD activities for the AIAA/Utah State University Small Satellite Conference and the Calcon Technical Meeting

Qualifications:

At a minimum, eligible candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree (technical field preferred) and 3-5 years’ experience on aerospace programs. Must be able to obtain a security clearance (US citizenship is required). Additional purposes for this position are developmental, including to: · Develop hands-on experience on pursuits and proposals, · Master the business disciplines associated with business development, · Become familiar with the plans and budgets of SDL’s funding organizations, · Transition from this position back into an SDL engineering division to strengthen programs and customer relationships
