Qualifications:

QUALIFICATIONS:

Teacher must possess or be able to obtain a Colorado Teacher License with emphasis in Agricultural Education. Teacher must possess or be able to obtain requisite requirements in line with Colorado Community College Career and Technical Program requirements.

DUTIES:

• Individual should have strong background in Ag. Mechanics, welding, metal fabrication, basic woodshop, and tool uses.

• The district houses a fully functional shop with all tools and power equipment necessary to instruct basic woodworking or carpentry, and basic welding and metal fabrication.

• The school has a functioning, well established FFA Program and the instructor will be required to oversee SAEs, complete VE 135's and should have a working knowledge of vocational education funding, to include Perkins funds and state reimbursements requirements and guidelines.

Prospective applicants must possess a classroom vision based on high expectations for student achievement and rigorous standards for their own academic instruction.

Construct and effectively implement a long-term academic plan with clear goals for student achievement.

Motivate students and invest them in academic goals

Construct and execute individual lesson plans, aligned with the standards and the class long-term plan that meet the needs of students with diverse learning levels

Foster a classroom environment that supports student achievement of academic goals

Conduct varied assessments to benchmark and document student progress

Work with students from diverse socioeconomic backgrounds

Build strong personal relationships with students' families

Collaborate in a professional manner with colleagues from diverse backgrounds in a way that prioritizes student achievement

The High School houses approximately 140 students in grades 9-12. The West Grand School District is on a 4-day week schedule (Monday through Thursday). The schools are located in a small rural town of 1,500 people called Kremmling, Colorado. Kremmling is nestled in the heart of the Rocky Mountains only 100 miles northwest of Denver. We are often referred to as "The Sportsman's Paradise" with 5 ski areas within 45 miles, 3 large lakes within 17 miles, hunting, Gold Water fishing, camping, hiking, snowmobiling and many more outdoor activities.
