Job Summary The Micrometeorology Product Manager is responsible for capturing market requirements, defining product requirements, and packaging the features into product releases for the micrometeorology group. This position involves close interaction with development leads, product architects, and key customers to build the best products. A strong technical background and strong communication skills are required. Job duties include gathering requirements from existing and potential micrometeorology customers as well as recent evaluators, writing market requirements documents, monitoring the implementation of each product project and working with Marketing Communications to take product messages to market.

Responsibilities • Discover and validate market problems • Seek new market opportunities by leveraging the company’s distinctive competence • Develop and monitor product launch plans • Manage product life cycle • Manage and report on product return map • Establish product pricing in accordance with corporate guidelines • Conduct win/loss analysis • Determine buy/build/partner decisions • Conduct technology assessments • Analyze the competitive landscape • Maintain the product portfolio roadmap • Monitor and incorporate industry innovations • Define user personas for individual products • Write product requirements and use scenarios • Maintain a status dashboard for all portfolio products • Develop positioning and other planning documents

Work environment: General office environment. Domestic and international travel up to 20 - 25% on customer visits or trade shows. Physical requirements: Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds over short distances as needed in the course of fulfilling job responsibilities. Sitting, bending, twisting, consistent with office and field environments. Ability to walk on unpaved loose slopes of up to 25%

Qualifications:

Required technical and functional Skills • Working knowledge of CRBasic programming language or equivalent • Working knowledge of Campbell Scientific micrometeorology hardware or equivalent • Understanding of electronics theory and application • Understanding of eddy covariance measurement theory and application • Understanding of and implementation experience with project-management principles • Strong interpersonal skills: writing, oral, team-building, and negotiation skills • Knowledgeable about micrometeorology competitors and their products and new and emerging industry technologies Preferred qualifications • Experience running an eddy covariance station for monitoring greenhouse gas emissions • Knowledge of eddy covariance data management and post-processing procedures. Required education and relevant experience • 5 years of experience in micrometeorology field • Product testing experience • Product documentation and user manual writing experience • Master’s degree environmental science (e.g., biometeorology, ecosystem science, micrometeorology, atmospheric modeling) or equivalent • Greenhouse gas flux field measurement experience
