Description:

JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for integrating students with special needs into as full participation as possible in an inclusive preschool/childcare classroom setting.

INTERPERSONAL, CUSTOMER SERVICE AND COMMUNICATION SKILLS UTILIZED: Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with children and their families, and education professionals. Interact in a positive manner with other staff members. Must relate well to children. Ability to implement IEP’s, IESP’s, and preschool services plans, and work in a team with families and staff. Must be willing to fulfill responsibilities in accordance with the Center’s philosophy and goals.

SPECIAL EQUIPMENT UTILIZED: Computer, Copiers, digital cameras, printers, video cameras.

SPECIAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must be able to lift preschool age children up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications:

EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE; CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE: Bachelor’s degree in Special Ed., or related field preferred. Experience with early childhood development preferable.
