The Utah Department of Corrections (UDC) is looking for talented, dedicated Emergency Medical Technicians to join our team at the Utah State Prison in Draper, Utah.

The EMT is the first line responder to emergencies; assess, package, and follow EMS protocols; and will also deliver supplies and medications to institutional housing units.
The EMT will perform a variety of treatments including, but not limited to, diabetic care, obtaining vital signs, EKG's, blood draws, wound care, and dressing changes.
Successful candidates will possess:
Ensures that there is an adequate supply of materials available.
Orders, receives, inspects, and stores equipment, merchandise, commodities, materials, and/or supplies.
Deliver supplies and/or medications to institutional housing units.
Maintains emergency kits; checks for missing and/or outdated supplies and restocks them as necessary; restocks medical equipment and replenishes first-aid equipment and supplies in treatment area.
Receives information from referent to determine priority and assess client's needs for services.
Acts under the direction of a RN as an unlicensed assist personnel to performed delegated trained tasks to include: EKG, dressing change, etc.
Performs physical assessments of patients, and refers patients requiring further evaluation or treatment to a registered nurse, physician or other health care professional.
Prepare and/or process documents; review for accuracy and completeness; update information and/or evaluate against policy; compare elements for consistency or logical relationships, etc.

The model candidate for this position is someone who:
Has Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certificate.
Will submit to a pre-employment drug test.
