Primary Purpose
Teach all processes (SMAW, GTAW, GMAW and FCAW) applicable to both first and second years of the comprehensive pipe welding course of instruction. Will also be responsible to teach any of the following: blueprint reading, mechanical drawing, welding theory, or shop math.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide industry level quality plate and pipe welding instruction in accordance with (IAW) AWS D1.1, API 1104, and ASME piping codes and SEC. IX
• Conduct destructive testing and analysis IAW the criteria mentioned above
• Recruitment of students: conduct tours, onsite visits, campus/college events
• Placement of graduates
• Maintenance of equipment
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications
• Documented work experience of eight years in the pipe welding industry along with a high school diploma; or three years work experience and a bachelor’s degree.
• Candidate must be able to qualify to teach under auspices of Idaho Career and Technical Education standards as found at: https://cte.idaho.gov/about/new-teachers/
Preferred Qualifications
• Extensive pipe welding experience in uphill and/or downhill progression
• Semi-automatic processes experience in fabrication
• Post-secondary teaching experience
