Description:

Primary Purpose To coordinate advanced pharmacy practice experiences in general medicine at Portneuf Medical Center, provide clinical services, and contribute to the education of professional pharmacy students through lecture and recitation. In addition, the faculty member educates family medicine residents on their internal medicine rotation. There are additional duties that include committee service, supervision of students and residents in the clinic setting, quality improvement activities, scholarship, and other duties as assigned. This faculty member will serve as the pharmacy residency coordinator for the PGY1/PGY2 Pharmacotherapy Residency Program and is essential for maintenance of ASHP accreditation.

Key Responsibilities • Family Medicine Pharmacology curriculum coordination • Pharmacotherapy residency coordinator • Pharmacy student APPE clerkships - ~ 14 students per year • Inpatient medicine service coverage • Didactic teaching in Family Medicine, Pharmacy, and Physician Assistant curricula • Committee service and quality improvement programs

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications 1. Graduated from an ACPE accredited PharmD program 2. Two (2) years of pharmacotherapy residency training 3. Clinical expertise in the area of internal medicine

Preferred Qualifications 1. Previous experience as a residency program director and/or coordinator 2. Demonstrated ability to obtain and maintain ASHP residency accreditation status 3. Evidence of interdisciplinary teaching including medical residents 4. Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist
