Description:

Primary Purpose Recruit, Identify, and deliver program services to eligible 8th through 12th students from target school in the Idaho Falls area and vicinity, leading to successful post-secondary enrollment.

Key Responsibilities 1. Recruit and federal documentation for 250 13-17 year old program participants. 2. Academic Planning: weekly academic advising, college admissions, college admissions test preparation, scholarships, and financial aid. 3. Develop weekly college preparation workshops specific to age group. Develop and attend overnight college visitation and/or similar events with program participants. 4. Additional Duties which include, annual federal reporting, working nights and weekends when needed, building relationships with target area schools and community partners. Staff will be required to work from target area schools and the ISU Idaho Falls campus.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree; demonstrated ability to work effectively with middle school and/or high school students, staff, and administration; knowledge of career development, high school graduation requirements, and study skills; demonstrated ability to be self-directed as well as work within a larger team; knowledge planning workshops and programming for middle school, high school and/or college level students; knowledge of postsecondary admissions, financial aid, scholarships, and postsecondary course selection; must have access to and use of own transportation.

Preferred Qualifications Work with underrepresented students; knowledge of target population (Idaho Falls, Shelley, and/or Blackfoot areas); knowledge of retention strategies for limited-income and first generation students; experience with state or federal record keeping. Bilingual/Spanish.

Approved salary is $33,500 annually, commensurate with education and experience. Includes a competitive benefits package.
