Description:

Under the direction of the Practical Nursing Program (PNP) Manager, will be responsible to provide didactic and/or clinical instruction and supervision of students in the Practical Nursing Program. Provide students with technical instruction in a safe, clean, and productive learning environment; Develop, implement and evaluate practical nursing curriculum based on national nursing standards. Utilize with proficiency the college approved learning management system to manage and deliver the curriculum. Provide clinical instruction/supervision of students at approved clinical sites. Assist in identifying and evaluating clinical placements. Assist with the development, implementation and evaluation of clinical assignments, skills labs and simulation activities. Maintain student records to include verification of attendance and competency completion. Meet programmatic and accrediting body goals for student completion, placement, and licensure. Assist students with job placement and applicable industry or state certifications/licenses in support of meeting placement and licensure/certification goals. Adhere to OSHA standards as well as college and program policies and protocols. Maintain scheduled office hours and be available to students. Exemplify, motivate, and advise students in the areas of program and college expectations and appropriate work behavior and dress standards. Communicate with counselors, supervisor, and other staff as necessary to resolve issues affecting student success.Maintain contact with local employers and other educational partners; seek and implement feedback to continuously improve program curricula and training facilities to meet industry standards in support of completion, placement and certification/licensure. Complete ongoing professional development to increase technical expertise and instructional skills. Keep program manager apprised of positive outcomes as well as any issues, concerns or resource needs; recommend purchases.

Hourly Wage: $26.00 - $39.00

Working Hours: 12-29 hours per week, Monday through Saturday, varied schedule with some evenings

Qualifications:

Masters of Science Degree in Nursing OR Bachelors of Science in Nursing Degree with an academic study plan to complete a Master of Science Degree in Nursing in five years from the date of hire. Degree must be from a nursing education program that is accredited by an accrediting body for nursing education that is approved by the United States Department of Education. Minimum of four years of clinical experience as a Registered Nurse (medical-surgical experience preferred). Current and unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse in Utah. Certified in American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers. Current Immunization status as required by approved clinical sites. Preference will be given to candidates with teaching experience. Strong communication, team building and leadership skills. Supervisory experience desirable. Proficient in using computers, computer technology, and computer software related to position. Demonstrated ability to work with individuals of all racial, ethnic, and socio-economic backgrounds. Spanish speaking desirable.
