The Utah Department of Corrections is looking for a Licensed Clinical Psychologist to provide psychological evaluations and information to Clinical Mental Health team. The Psychologist's primary role as a member of the Clinical Mental Health Team will be to provide psychological evaluations, mental status updates and to help address Mental Health questions from the Clinical Mental Health Team. The assessment information requested by the Licensed Clinical Psychologist will assist them in understanding the mental health issues, diagnosis and status of inmates.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Experience working with mentally ill patients. A solid understanding of principles, theories, and practices of human behavior/mental processes. A knowledge of the ethical principles of psychologists and code of conduct. An understanding of group counseling and caseload. A knowledge of and ability to make assessments, treatment plans and provide psychological evaluations and testing. Experience in crisis intervention. Provide consultation and/or expert advice to Clinical Staff and/or Clinical Services Bureau. Discusses results, findings and recommendations with appropriate parties.

Skill Set:

Excellent communication skills both oral and written. Good working knowledge of computer programs such as excel, word, power point, etc. Self-starter with the ability to work alone and unsupervised. Provide recommendations to the licensed therapists.

Qualifications:

This position requires an active license as a Psychologist in the State of Utah. There must be no restrictions and no disciplinary actions on the license.
