Description:

Primary Purpose This position is responsible for the day to day accounting for the ISU Foundation, including reconciliation of donor system records to financial records, processing accounts payable, investment reconciliation, preparation and posting of journal entries, maintenance of the accounting records and ad hoc reporting. This position is responsible for preparing timely interim financial reports for management and ISU departments and year- end financial statements in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles. This position performs analysis of financial information for endowments and other agreements. This position is responsible for preparing documentation for the annual audit and working with the outside audit firm to complete the audit and required tax forms. This position is responsible for completing and filing tax returns related to split-interest agreements and supporting the stewardship function. This position is responsible for supervising the gift processing function and is a primary contact for ISU departments and employees.

Key Responsibilities 1. Prepare, analyze, and/or audit all financial transactions for the ISU Foundation 2. Audit preparation for the ISU Foundation 3. Administration of accounting software for ISU Foundation 4. Tax reporting preparation 5. Accounts payable processing 6. Month end transfers 7. Loan compliance and reporting 8. General finance tasks 9. Oversee and manage gift processing functions

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications 1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Finance or related field 2. Three (3) years’ experience working with general ledger, accounts payable, journal vouchers, and reconciliation of bank statements and transactions 3. Experience with audit (being audited or being an auditor) 4. Accounting software experience 5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications 1. Accounting degree 2. Fund accounting experience 3. Preparation of audited financial statements 4. Experience in Tax Accounting 5. Accounting for investments 6. Advanced excel knowledge 7. Gift processing 8. Supervisory Experience of a processing function

The approved salary range is $55,000 - $60,000 annually, commensurate with education and experience. Includes a competitive benefits package.
