Description:

The Department of Pediatrics in the University of Utah School of Medicine has an immediate opening for a Computer Technician. The Computer Technician provides desktop support for Mac and Windows based computers; installs and upgrades computer hardware and software applications; and serves as a help desk resource.

WORK SCHEDULE: Full-time, 40 hrs/wk, Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

COMPENSATION: $15.19 to $24.85/hr DOE. Strong benefit package including tuition reduction program, retirement and health plan options.

RESPONSIBILITIES: • Works with team members to support customers on Mac and PC computers in a dynamically changing environment. • Monitors the department’s internal trouble ticket system and responds to incidents as they arise. • Works with vendors to complete repairs and RMAs in a timely manner. • Manages loaner laptops and projectors. • Ensures that department surplus is properly disposed of.

Qualifications:

QUALIFICATIONS: Associate’s degree in a computer related field and two years of experience or equivalency recommended. Demonstrated computer skills, human relations and effective communication skills are required. The Incumbent will be required to travel to other affiliated practice facilities and clinics within the Salt Lake valley to perform job duties. Reliable transportation is required. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds Preferences: • CompTIA A+ certification • Apple ACSP certification
