Description:
The Division of Child and Family Services (DCFS) with the Utah Department of Human Services is looking to fill a full-time, career service Caseworker I and Social Service Worker (SSW) position in their Blanding office
Candidates filling Caseworker I positions work under close and regularly provided supervision while SSWs are less closely supervised and exercise greater independent judgment and discretion than Caseworker Is. Both Caseworker I and Social Service Worker employees assess human service needs for children and youth. Incumbent recommends appropriate care or intervention, develops service plans, documents client progress, compiles case histories and prepares other related reports. May perform field investigations and determine actions or decisions governing a client's situation. May investigate abuse, exploitation and/or neglect referrals and recommend appropriate actions affecting the client's well being and social functioning. Incumbent may coordinate provider services and ensure the quality of services for clients. May perform 24-hour on-call services, under supervisor's direction, as needed. Some positions may require previous experience with the community or client base served by the position.
Qualifications:
These positions are filled as a Caseworker I or SSW depending upon the qualifications of the applicant.
CASEWORKER I: Pay: $15.11. Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Family and Human Development, Criminal Justice or a closely related field.
SOCIAL SERVICE WORKER (SSW): Pay: $16.83. Requires an active Social Service Worker License or a higher, related license (Certified Social Worker, LCSW, etc.) from the State of Utah.
