Description:
Students who intern for a congressional office will be asked to give tours of
the U.S. Capitol building, attend committee meetings, aid in constituent response, research
legislation, and carry out general functions of the office.
Approximately January 4 - May 1st; start date and end date depend on your
employer. Student will work at least 40 hours per week.
Qualifications:
High level of professionalism, moral responsibility, and initiative. Juniors and
seniors preferred. All majors welcome.

Cover letter (explaining why you feel this experience will benefit your academic and
career pursuits)
Writing sample (4-5 pages from a research paper on any topic)
2-4 letters of recommendation (with at least one coming from a professor and past
employer)
Unofficial Southern Utah University transcript obtained from the Registrar’s Office
