Description:
Local interns range in where they work. Available internships include local
government including city and mayoral offices, county commission, district courts, and nonprofit
organizations. Internships are located in Cedar city, Iron County, and St. George. Interns will be
given the opportunity to assist our local leaders in carrying out the functions of public
administration and local government through special projects, research, marketing, and tending
to basic office duties.
Qualifications:
Interns must be proactive self-starters with strong initiative. As well as have a
high level of professionalism and moral responsibility. Juniors and seniors are preferred. All
majors welcome.

Current resume
Cover letter (explaining why you feel this experience will benefit your academic and
career pursuits)
Writing sample (4-5 pages from a research paper on any topic)
2-4 letters of recommendation (with at least one coming from a professor and past
employer)
Unofficial Southern Utah University transcript obtained from the Registrar’s Office
