Description:

The Aviation Maintenance Department is opening 10 paid internships on a semester-by-semester basis. Interns will work directly with maintenance personnel in maintaining the University's fleet of aircraft. These internships are designed to expose aviation students to an in-depth knowledge of the aircraft they fly and give them a greater confidence in their aviation career.

All interns will be required to understand and work within the requirements of the Federal Aviation Regulations and SUU Aviation Sciences policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Applicants must be enrolled in aviation classes to qualify.
  • A minimum of 10 hours per week availability will be required, and 20 hours availability is preferred.
  • Interns will be held to the same standards of safety and professionalism that all maintenance employees adhere to.
  • Interns will be required to maintain a maintenance logbook. By logging maintenance hours, if the intern is chosen for consecutive semesters they could potentially earn an Airframe and Powerplant certificate.
  • The internships are a sememseter-by-semester basis and applicants will be required to re-apply if they wish to continue in the internships.
