The Marketing Research Analyst supports the Marketing primary research Senior Manager by performing research and project management tasks necessary to plan, execute and report research

Primary Responsibilities:

Assists Marketing primary research manager with overall Marketing client projects, including brand positioning, brand strategy, advertising tracking, multicultural studies, and copytesting, ensuring client accessibility, data accuracy, and reporting timeliness Coordinates advertising copytest project schedules and logistics with appropriate research vendors Coordinates weekly advertising campaign tracking toplines and monthly campaign reports, as assigned Reconciles invoices against research contracts and deliverable; processes vendor invoices Gathers and organizes research assets (e.g. images,copytest media spots), as assigned Writes and edits research questionnaires and discussion guides, as assigned Vets research data for completeness and accuracy, as assigned Tabulates research data, as assigned Writes and edits research reports, as assigned

Qualifications:

Core Capabilities & Accomplishments:

BS/BA degree in research methodology, statistics, or a quantitative discipline, theory of consumer behavior, behavioral/social sciencies, psychology, business administration, or marketing,. MBA/MS in marketing research or a similar discipline, a plus 1-3 years of experience in Market Research; previous work experience within retail industry, apparel industry or strategy consulting Previous experience or work in marketing, branding, positioning, or marketing strategy is a plus Previous experience in working with multicultural initiatives is a plus Displays a general understanding of various research methods (quantitative and qualitative) and how they can be used to address business questions Demonstrates an understanding of data and reports Communicates with clarity and confidence Quickly identifies any issues/problems and escalates them appropriately to execute plan to resolve Demonstrates a general understanding of the business Manages a variety of projects simultaneously and produces high-quality deliverables under tight timelines in a dynamic unstructured environment with supervision Our corporate office supports the JCPenney stores nationwide and offers a competitive benefits package including medical/dental/vision, term life insurance, paid vacation/holidays, 401(k) savings plan with company match, and a merchandise discount plan to JCPenney.
