Description:

The Senior Risk Consultant is a strategic provider and promoter of risk management solutions and decision support services for all ecclesiastical leadership, Church departments, and affiliated businesses. This position conducts advanced statistical analyses, develops risk models, conducts original research, produces reports and presentations for high level management, automates reports by writing code, and manages analysts. This work is performed across all insurance coverages and risk functions for a diverse set of clients worldwide. The primary goal of this position is to provide information and recommendations to management and conduct critical reviews of data-related processes, aimed at the reduction of the occurrence of injury, property damage or loss, and death. This position reports to the Senior Manager of the Global Risk Consulting Group in the Risk Management Division.

Responsibilities • 30% Plan and execute statistical analyses including factor analysis, measures of association and group differences, predictive modeling, trend analyses, and descriptive statistics using archival, public, and original data. Design research studies and collect data. Monitor risk-related data quality. • 25% Manage risk-mitigation projects that leverage data and reports. • 20% Develop empirically-based strategies and recommendations to mitigate risk throughout the Church in coordination with Church departments, affiliates and other Risk Management Division teams. • 10% Prepare and present results and recommendations to customers, typically ranging from managers to managing and executive directors. • 10% Manage individuals responsible for providing database management and statistical analysis and modeling to support the execution of consulting engagements and routine reporting. Review reports and provide regular feedback, leading under the direction of the Senior Manager. • 5% Engage in continual training and professional development in risk management, data analysis/research, and your field of study through webinars, workshops, self-study, conference attendance, and other similar activities.

Qualifications:

Qualifications • A doctorate degree in any applied science, with demonstrated knowledge in advanced statistical methods plus 6 years of post-bachelors graduate work experience; or doctorate degree plus demonstrated success in performing equivalent responsibilities and acquisition of commensurate skills and knowledge. • Demonstrated ability to plan, lead, and execute advanced analyses and research projects using both quantitative and qualitative methods, and strong evidence of publication or project leadership. • Demonstrated creative strategic thinking, including the ability to bring disparate sets of information together with innovative methods. • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills, a team orientation and attention to detail.

Worthiness Qualification Must be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and currently temple worthy.
