Primary Purpose
The Department of Anthropology at Idaho State University is seeking applications for a tenure-track assistant professor in biological anthropology. The position will start August 2018. We seek an active biological anthropologist with evidence of superior teaching ability and an active research program. Research specialty is open, but we prefer candidates with research topics of broad anthropological significance including human adaptation, demography, nutrition, health and disease, and forensics. We also prefer candidates who demonstrate inventive undergraduate teaching.
Key Responsibilities
The candidate will teach 6 courses (3 per semester), including introductory courses in biological anthropology, upper level courses, and graduate courses. Experience in online instruction and a willingness to develop online courses in physical anthropology is preferred. Faculty are expected to supervise graduate and undergraduate students, perform university and professional service, and conduct active research that involves students.
