We are looking for a dedicated project manager who wants to work for one of "Utah's Most Admired Companies". Leveraging project management best practices, this role supports the IT PMO and will lead and manage strategic projects for CHG Healthcare to better position our company to meet our growth goals through the application of project management best practices, methodologies, tools, and techniques, supporting all phases of projects from initiation to implementation. The ideal candidate must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously. The position requires excellent leadership, communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

Qualifications:

  • Manage small to large complex cross-functional projects and initiatives in IT, which may support projects that are part of a greater program or portfolio of work.

  • Consults with the IT leadership and business partners to ensure scope is clearly defined, change is managed, communication gaps are minimized, risks and issues are mitigated, and sprint plans are successfully managed through each release.

  • Manages project scope through the maintenance of project and implementation plans and ensures any changes to scope are documented and approved, including any changes that may impact project budget

  • Responsible for understanding the project/product needs and requirements and working with the business and technical teams to implement the appropriate solution. Build consensus around feature priorities with many business leaders from different divisions

  • Partners with IT leaders and business partners to secure required IT resources and business SMEs; Defines project sub-team roles and responsibilities; Ensures IT and business areas are involved as appropriate

  • Develop working relationships with IT and business team members, including external vendors representatives

  • Establish project success criteria with the sponsor, and drive the project to meet established measures

  • Responsible for creating, maintaining, and managing project schedules, project charter, project scope and other project documentation as required throughout the project lifecycle

  • Track and report project status and escalate issues as appropriate to ensure timely resolution

  • Coordinate the development and execution of test plans, test cases, implementation plans, training plans, user acceptance testing and user documentation

  • Remains engaged in project through close to include lessons learned and evaluation of project

  • Consult with business to assist in their understanding and identification of opportunities to use technology to improve their business processes

  • Engage in release management activities to monitor project quality, recommends corrective and preventive actions, and records acceptance of all completed deliverables

  • Manage project scope and think outside the box for creative ideas to deliver scope

  • Demonstrate commitment, accountability, and ownership for the project and serve as the project advocate

  • Proven track record with taking initiative to do what it takes to drive results and continuously move the project forward

  • Demonstrate flexibility to adapt to changing organizational priorities and a mindfulness of the implications of decisions

  • Plan and manage for project success, including being iterative and adaptive through all phases of the project life cycle

  • Manage external vendors through solution selection and implementation

  • Convert business requirements into development and project tasks to be managed within the technical teams

  • Manages project scope by defining and documenting all activities and dependencies to deliver work breakdown structure, scope documentation, baseline schedule, and re-baselines

  • Present ideas and information in group setting

  • Work effectively in a matrixed environment

  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with project and team resources

  • Effectively manage multiple projects/tasks of varying complexities, meet deadlines and work well under pressure

What You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, information technology or other business discipline, five years of experience leading software development projects, or combination of education and experience.

  • Proven problem-solving and analytical skills with an ability to approach a problem logically and systematically

  • Effectiveness in leading project resources and schedules at all level

  • Advanced understanding of PMBOK methodology and project metrics and reporting, including methodologies such as Agile and Waterfall

  • Proven track record in managing small and large/complex software development projects to completion on time and within budget

  • Proficient in Microsoft Project, Visio, Word, Excel, PowerPoint

  • Proven ability to understand the business environment (business model, competitive landscape, processes, revenue/cost drivers, etc.)

  • Communication skills and the ability to communicate at all levels (technical and business)

  • Excellent interpersonal skills; able to interact effectively with all aspects of the business. Build trust at all levels and have a keen sense of self-awareness

  • Ability to work with team members to size and estimate both the project and sprints through proper estimating techniques

  • Developing detailed business requirements and technical specifications

  • Effective problem solving skills exhibited by effective collaboration among project team members to resolve issues and drive the project forward

  • Strong reasoning, negotiation, decision making and consensus-building skills

  • Demonstrate a high level of dependability in all aspects of the job, foster an environment that is relationship and customer focused

  • Strong analytical and product management skills required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements

  • PMP or ACP certified preferred
