We are looking to fill our Accountant position! In this position, the accountant maintains fixed asset records and general ledger accounts through cost-effective data accumulation systems. This position requires an in-depth knowledge of our capital expenditure projects and serve as a capital budgeting expert within the company to help others make good decisions that improve return on investment. Also, this position maintains and ensures accurate reporting of fixed asset information for managerial, insurance, and property tax purposes.

Our Expectations from You

Reports to management on capital expenditure request analysis, including return on investment, profitability, and reasonableness. Creates annual budget and ongoing maintenance of capital budgeting system, including research and development expenses related to capital investment projects. Tracks the compilation of project costs into fixed asset accounts and record fixed asset acquisition and disposition entries. Collects, reviews, and maintains fixed asset supporting documentation to ensure that expenditures are being capitalized or expensed in accordance with accounting standards and with established company policies. Calculates depreciation for all fixed assets and records appropriate journal entries. Conducts analysis and investigates potential fixed asset obsolescence and impairment. Conducts periodic count of fixed assets to ensure fixed asset schedules are current and accurate. Documents standard depreciation variances, performs root cause analysis and recommends actions to minimize future variances. Utilizes SQL and Excel (data tables and pivot tables) for efficient reporting and analyses. Prepares audit schedules relating to fixed assets and assists 3rd party auditors in their inquiries. Prepares fixed asset schedules for income tax filings, property tax filings, and insurance policy renewals. Responsible to help drive business alignment; supported through frequent interaction with personnel in procurement, engineering, manufacturing, sales, and executive management.
