Description:

The Utah Higher Education Assistance Authority (UHEAA) is looking for a full-time Trainer II to join our team. This position reports to the manager of Training & Communications.

About UHEAA

UHEAA is a Utah state government agency and part of the Utah System of Higher Education. Through its CornerStone Education Loan Services program UHEAA administers student loans originated under the U.S. Department of Education’s William D. Ford Direct Loan Program. Since 1976, UHEAA’s focus has been to help Utah students and their families plan, prepare, and pay for college and it has sponsored a variety of community outreach programs across Utah to accomplish this mission.

Job Description

•Lead and facilitate a five-week new hire training. •Plan, schedule, and coordinate all department trainings, including new hire training, recurring training, ongoing training, and remedial training. •Participate with others (Executive Management, BU Managers, etc.) in strategic planning for training and development of staff members. •In consultation with the management team, identify company-training needs for each business unit. •Design and oversee projects with attendant milestones and deadlines for the training of company employees. •In cooperation with Manager, develop training curricula for employees by role. •Develop training in various media for each business unit, in consultation with the management team. •Coach and train company leadership on training techniques, best practices, etc. •Develop assessment tools for each training module/session/lesson. •In cooperation with Manager, develop tracking mechanisms for training and assessments of all employees. •Provide consistent communication to Executive Management, BU Managers, et al regarding progress of training projects. •Develop mechanisms to communicate with BU Managers et al on employees’ individual progress in their respective training requirements. •Develop and rollout a marketing plan to communicate the merits of the training plan (and attendant expectations) to employees. Coordinate with BU Managers to incorporate the training requirements into performance measurement plans. •Consult with the Manager on the design of HR New Employee Orientation to ensure seamless transition between HR training and Business Unit training. •Develop feedback mechanisms (from trainees, BU Managers, et al) to measure effectiveness, quality, and quantity of training. •Oversee physical training resources. •Perform training on various topics.

Qualifications:

Knowledge: •Knowledge of proprietary loan servicing systems strongly preferred. •Ability to understand and communicate concepts concisely and accurately to various audiences. •Competent in adult learning theories •Excellent technical writing skills. •Excellent presentation software skills. •Relationship management skills. •Excellent training skills. •Ability to quickly learn company technology. •Project management skills preferred. •Service oriented.

Education:

Associate’s degree or equivalent in education and related experience.

Experience:

This is an Associate-level position; at minimum, three years of experience in instructional design or training is required. Student loan or other financial experience is preferred. Experience with Photoshop, Illustrator, MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint and Prezi is strongly preferred.
