Description:
Primary Purpose
This position enables the program to offer upper-division and graduate level courses in Ancient Philosophy and other areas, and to enhance lower-level offerings, including general education objectives 4A and 7, and to increase the research profile of the university.
Key Responsibilities
(1) Teach upper-division undergraduate/graduate level courses in area of expertise, specifically Ancient philosophy.
(2) Teach undergraduate lower-level courses including general education courses.
Teaching responsibility will involve roughly 60-65% of work load.
(3) Conduct research in area of expertise resulting in published articles and / or external funding for research.
The research responsibilities will involve 20% of work load.
(4) Supervise undergraduate theses and advise undergraduate majors.
(5) Participate in professionally related service and university service. The service responsibilities will involve 15-20% of work load.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications
PhD in Philosophy in hand by August 2018, AOS Ancient Philosophy.
Preferred Qualifications
PhD in Philosophy in hand by May, 2018, AOC Philosophy of Religion.
