Description:

Primary Purpose The entry-level Doctor of Physical Therapy Program is now accepting applications for a faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor or higher, dependent on qualifications. This position is a full-time, 9-month, non-tenure track appointment, however, a tenure track appointment may be considered depending on qualifications and departmental need. This position may reside in Meridian at the ISU Meridian Health Sciences Center or in Pocatello at the main ISU campus as negotiated.

Key Responsibilities The successful applicant will teach DPT students in area(s) of expertise and interest. He or she will also be expected to advise DPT students and pursue a focused program of research and scholarship. Ouron-site faculty/student clinic also provides the opportunity for supervising student clinical training and independent clinical practice. Strong collegial communication skills are essential. All faculty members are expected to take an active role in department and university service and other professional development activities.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications Doctorate degree in physical therapy with specialized or concentrated experience in desired content area, five (5) years of clinical practice, interest in scholarly/research activities, and evidence of clinical teaching experience. Candidates must be eligible for physical therapy licensure in Idaho.

Preferred Qualifications An advanced post-professional doctoral degree, evidence of scholarly activity, and academic teaching experience in a PT/PTA professional program. The most competitive candidates will have evidence of activity in a professional association, leadership skills, strong interpersonal skills, and inter-professional activity. Preferred areas of expertise include pediatric management, general neurologic system management, or acute/critical care; other areas of specialty will be considered. Tenure track appointment may be considered depending on qualifications.
