Description:
Lava Heights Academy in Toquerville, UT, is seeking a Part time Cook. Lava Heights is a residential treatment center for adolescents that focuses on the performing arts.
DUTIES: Meal preparation: Meals are nutritionally balanced, well-planned, and prepared and served in a manner that meets established governmental health and safety codes.
Dietary standards in the following areas must be met in order to assure a nutritionally adequate diet:
· Portion control
· Nutrition
· Calories
· Eye appeal
· Warm meals
MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING:
All health and sanitation codes must be strictly followed to ensure the health and welfare of juveniles and staff. In order to assure compliance, staff will:
· Maintain all applicable health/sanitation codes and standards
· Store all food per applicable standards
· Immediately notify supervisor of any damage or malfunction
Qualifications:
QUALIFICATIONS:
· High school diploma or equivalent
· Hold current Food Handlers Permit
· Must have knowledge and skill to meet all applicable standards for food preparation
· Experience in quantity or commercial food preparation
· Possess and exhibit high standards of personal cleanliness and hygiene
· Must be able to work with other staff and supervisor
· Must be in good physical condition to lift boxes and milk crates
· Must be able to pass a background check and drug test
