Position Overview
Lava Heights Academy is currently seeking to fill the position for a Part-Time Registered Nurse. We are looking for outgoing individuals to help support our students through their daily schedules which include: Activities, Academics, Meal Times, and other regimens that happen daily. We are looking for energetic staff that are able to help provide safety and security for recovering youth. Must be interested in mentoring and helping youth learn from current behavior and changing behavior into better alternatives. We are looking for people that are not only able to tell youth what to improve on but people that are willing to show them a good example to follow. Must be willing to work some weekends and some holidays. Must be at least 21 years of age, pass a background check, pass a Drug test, and a TB screening.
Job Duties Include:
• Assesses students upon admission and throughout their treatment utilizing observational and interviewing skills.
• Reviews overall student status every shift by reviewing physician orders, student treatment plan, and multidisciplinary notes as applicable.
• Helps to develop an individualized treatment plan in conjunction with student, family and multidisciplinary team.
• Identifies short and long term measurable goals, including discharge planning, consistent with student care standards, nursing practice, and policies and procedures.
• Provides direct nursing care based on patient treatment plan.
• Maintains a safe and therapeutic milieu.
• Documents on all appropriate clients care topics/events/interventions.
• Evaluates and documents the effectiveness of care and modifies nursing components of the patient’s treatment plan accordingly.
Work Schedule
Part-Time and may vary week to week upon the program needs
Qualifications:
Job Requirements
• Must have a valid unrestricted Registered Nursing License issued by the Utah Board of Nursing.
• Psychiatric nursing experience with a child / youth population is highly preferred.
• Must be able to deliver skilled nursing care in both routine and stressful periods.
• A valid CPR certification issued by the American Red Cross or the American Heart Association is required. CPR Trainer Certification preferred.
• Must have current UT driver’s license.
