Description:
The Clinical Trials Office at the University of Utah School of Medicine has an immediate opening for a Clinical Study Assistant. Working under the direction of a senior research coordinator or manager, the Clinical Study Assistant supports administrative operations and coordination of human subjects research studies.

COMPENSATION: $12.02 to $19.22/hour DOE. Strong benefit package including retirement and health plan options.
WORK SCHEDULE: Full-time, 40 hours/week, Monday–Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Occasional weekend and after hours required.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Collects and compiles data from a variety of sources; may enter data into a PC or computer terminal.
2. Assists senior research coordinator in identifying potential study participants and may assist in obtaining informed consent.
3. Maintain supply inventory, including ordering supplemental test articles and returning unused test articles to sponsor.
4. Coordinates study visits between participants and clinic staff.
5. Prepares and maintains regulatory documents.
6. Enters demographic information into a database.
7. Determines visit windows from protocol, schedules subject visits and sends visit reminders.
8. Organizes and prepares area for study related equipment and supplies.
9. Schedules and coordinates pre-study and monitor site visits.
10. Transmits Case Report Form data by fax, express mail, or other means dictated by sponsor.
11. Ensures study visits and procedures do not conflict with existing schedules.
12. Under the direction of senior staff, may provide basic patient care.
13. Processes and ships lab samples according to protocol directions.
Qualifications:
QUALIFICATIONS: Associates degree or equivalency (2 years related work experience may be substituted for 1 year of education). Completion of HIPAA Privacy & Security training may be required within two to five days of hire. Demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills also required.

- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalency
- Prior research experience
