Position: Lead day to day operations for TV news as part of a highly dynamic, multi-platform newsroom. We want someone with a deep understanding of journalism combined with a strong leadership style to bring together the content. To meet FCC requirements for video/audio/equipment for news broadcasts. Also, to meet the highest ethical and technical company standards associated with electronic journalism.

Responsibilities:

Supervise daily newsroom operations, coordinating between management, engineering and production Work with News Director to enact strategy and participate in all long-term planning for both news and news/station projects such as special sports events, elections, and other special projects. Oversee content and branding for social media content Interface with KSL Engineering and other applicable departments in all facets of technical operations as they apply to KSL TV News. Monitor and provide feedback Work in compliance with Company policies and procedures. Other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands:

Receive, process, and maintain information through oral and/or written communication effectively. Substantial physical movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. Ability to extend hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction with good eye and hand coordination. Lift, move, and carry up to 20 pounds on occasion. Qualifications:

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

4-yr degree in Journalism, Communications or related course of study 5 years' TV newsroom experience High degree of computer literacy, including newsroom computer systems, digital publishing, and social media Excellent written communication skills and news judgment Ability to work on multiple tasks under tight deadlines. Excellent project-management skills and attention to detail Possess a valid driver's license, acceptable driving record Ability to navigate complex organizational dynamics and work effectively across organizational boundaries Consistently work hours required. Work more when required to meet deadlines including weekends, holidays, evenings, etc.
