Description:

If you like hard work, remote and rugged conditions, extended travel and overnight camping, then becoming a Wildland Firefighter may be for you. The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is looking for employees to work on a variety of wildland firefighting crews for the summer of 2018. Firefighting can be a fun summer job, a great career, or a path to other land management careers. Jobs usually begin in May and last through September.

Qualifications:

KEY REQUIREMENTS • You must be a U.S. Citizen. • You must be 18 years of age, or older, prior to appointment. • You must be able to pass the work capacity fitness test (Must carry a 45 pound pack for 3 miles within 45 minutes). • Some positions may require a valid state driver's license. • Some positions may require a CDL (commercial driver’s license). • All positions have medical qualification requirements (including drug testing).
