Description:
We are seeking a full-time Associate Variant Specialist to join our Variant Specialist team. The successful individual will work in a multi-disciplinary environment and assist in the classification of genetic variants (mutations) related to hereditary cancer syndromes.
Qualifications:

Work with other members of the variant team, Lab Directors, and Medical Services in the daily classification of patient genetic variants.

Construct and appraise family pedigrees for use in variant classification.

Communicate directly with providers and physicians to follow up on patient results and resolve specific queries.

Make recommendations to improve processes and contribute towards the evolution of Myriad's classification program.

B.S. in the biological sciences, preferably Biology, Genetics/Molecular Biology or Biochemistry.

Ability to work in a team and communicate with individuals in a multi-disciplinary environment.

Ability to work autonomously on projects and solve problems as they arise.

Attention to detail is essential.

Proficient with Windows, Word and Excel.

Experience in bioinformatics and/or programming is a plus, but not a requirement.
