Description:

You are knowledgeable, yet teachable. You recognize and are current with popular and emerging trends. You are the expert in design—typefaces, color, print, packaging, photo shoots, digital, social platforms, and anything that design touches. You understand that form is there to support function.

As the Design Lead/Design Director, you will help establish and maintain the visual identity of Nu Skin’s global brand. You will manage and direct a design team that is nimble, creative, adaptable, productive, and professional. Your team will include both new and seasoned graphic and digital designers and photographers. You will be responsible for ensuring that your team members are assigned projects that fit their skill set, while mentoring and guiding them to develop new talents and skills. You have strong art direction skills and the ability to impart those skills to your team. You will guide the design execution of all marketing initiatives and corporate partner requests and will be responsible for the overall quality of work produced by your design team. You will report to the Creative Director (CD) and work closely with the CD, the Marcomm Director, and the VP of Global Brand Strategy to maintain a high standard of quality deliverables. You will ensure that all projects meet corporate and business partner strategies and objectives. This is a senior-staff role that requires responsibility, focus, creativity, understanding of strategic vision, business sense, an aptitude for effective mentoring and the ability to set and meet timelines. You must have management experience and an extensive portfolio of work you’ve executed and work you’ve directed.

Qualifications:

Ability to lead, mentor, and manage a team Expert ability to articulate marketing objectives and strategy in design, including print, digital, social, and photography Understanding of design esthetics from industries and cultures around the world (Asia, Europe, etc.) Appility to prioritize team projects to ensure timely delivery of all marketing, corporate, and business partner assets Strong people skills with the ability to resolve conflicts between team members and internal partners when applicable Strong team leadership skills to apply to own team and cross-functional teams; ability to contribute to and lead cross-functional teams Expert collaborator with internal and external teams to foster open communication Ability to maintain strong relationships with internal partners and multidisciplinary teams to guide the development and implementation of design An expert knowledge of design development of marketing assets Ability to lead the design team in producing a large amount of marcom content in various formats An expert understanding of social media and digital platforms and experience designing multichannel optimized assets to meet marketing campaign needs Ability to create and present visual direction presentations when needed Proven track record directing successful photo shoots and delivering results on strategy Desire to continue growing creatively Ability to stay abreast of marketing and design trends and the latest technologies that can help inform development and execution of assets Motivated to seek out new solutions and learning experiences Ability to motivate people to be creative, productive, resourceful and service oriented Expert understanding of the Nu Skin brand and importance of staying on-brand, while understanding that sometimes brand rules need to be challenged and adjusted Understanding and willingness to stretch the brand and look for ways to grow the brand Excellent project management skills—able to drive multiple projects and follow through seamlessly Ability to effectively and fluently communicate with all teams Analytical and critical thinking, creative, strategic thinker Detail oriented and highly organized Expert knowledge of Adobe creative suite. Proficient in MS Office
