Description:

Teaches one or more subjects to students in grade 7-12. Instructs students, using

various teaching strategies and techniques to present subject matter. Prepares

course objectives and outline for course of study following curriculum guidelines and

Utah State Core and school. Assigns lessons and corrects homework. Prepares,

administers, evaluates, and records assessment. Keeps attendance records.

Maintains discipline in classroom. Utilizes technology as a part of the instructional

process. Meets with parents to discuss student progress and problems. Participates

in faculty and professional meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training

workshops. Performs related duties, such as sponsoring one or more activities or

student organizations, assisting pupils in selecting course of study, and counseling

student in adjustment and academic problems. Discusses students' progress with

parents.

o Instructs students in a specific science content class (biological, physical, earth)

according to local and state guidelines.

Qualifications:

This position is for a provisional biology teacher beginning January 2018 until the end of the school year, with possibility of contract renewal.
