Description:

Translates physicians' dictation of patient care and treatment into comprehensive typed records.

Qualifications:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

One (1) year of medical transcription experience. Accurately type more than 65 words per minute Specialized Transcription training, license or certificate preferred Basic computer knowledge with a firm understanding of Windows, Microsoft Word and Internet Explorer In order to be considered for this position, all applicants must complete a skills assessment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Provide accurate and timely transcribed reports of physician orders and medical documents Transcribe physicians' notes into well organized and accurate statements Transcribe and produce letters as requested Investigates inconsistencies in medical records and appropriately edit or revise without altering the meaning or changing the author's style. Responds to priority requests within acceptable time frame Participate in ongoing quality assurance projects and meetings relating to transcription. Copy, fax and shred documents.
