Program Manager (Software Emphasis)
Aerospace and Defense Company Seeks a Program Manager with Experience in Software Development
The Space Dynamics Laboratory (SDL) is seeking applicants for a program manager with a software development background. The successful applicant will be responsible for managing the day-to-day software development activities for military space software systems programs. A program manager is someone who has been delegated corporate responsibility for delivering on contracts by:
Understanding a customer’s needs and issues, usually by direct interface
Assembling and directing corporate resources toward execution of the contract
Identifying, tracking, avoiding, and mitigating risks
Trading issues of scope, approach, cost, and schedule
Delivering the contracted result
Managing daily activities of an engineering support and logistics team
Pursuing new business development opportunities
He/she shall be willing to work as part of a larger team with developers, engineers, managers, technicians, and support personnel.

Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
BS in computer science, electrical engineering, computer engineering, or information systems; MBA with a technical BS degree
5+ years technical program experience
Demonstrated supervisory experience
Proficiency in task management
Ability to organize and manage a team
Develop program schedules and control budgets to meet required deadlines
Ability to work in a team-oriented environment while making direct contributions to team success
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Up-to-date computer skills
Willing to travel
Ability to obtain a security clearance (US citizenship required)
