Description:

Primary Purpose

The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at Idaho State University (ISU) is seeking an outstanding audiologist to provide student supervision and clinical instruction and audiology services in the ISU Audiology Clinic. Responsibilities could include work in the following areas: adult, pediatric, vestibular, auditory processing, cochlear/middle ear implants, and audiologic rehabilitation. This individual could also provide classroom instruction and participate in scholarly and service activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide graduate student supervision, clinical instruction, and/or direct services to adult and pediatric patients in the ISU Audiology Clinic (~70%)
  • Develop and teach classroom based courses or labs depending on interest and experience (~10%)
  • Creative and Scholarly Activities (~10%)
  • Service Activities (~10%)

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications

  • Earned master's degree (e.g., MS, MA) and/or doctoral degree in Audiology (e.g., AuD, PhD)
  • Be eligible for Idaho licensure as an audiologist
  • Have a minimum of three years (post-graduation) of clinical audiology experience
  • Be eligible for American Speech/Language Hearing Association (ASHA) Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A)
  • Evidence of strong collaboration skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and professional skills and potential for excellence in teaching
  • Be able to pass a criminal background check

Preferred Qualifications

  • Three years hearing-aid experience with multiple product lines and manufacturers
  • Experience teaching at the university level
  • Experience supervising and instructing graduate students in a clinical environment
  • Experience in implantable devices, especially with cochlear implants
  • Interest in and/or experience with vestibular assessment and management
  • Interest in and/or experience in business administration and/or private practice clinical activities
  • Have a clear potential for clinical and classroom teaching and research/scholarly activities
  • Several years of university experience with a strong record of clinical instruction and involvement in creative and scholarly activities would be required for the Associate Professor rank
