Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Good knowledge on IP Address, Subnet mask, Default gateway, DNS, DHCP and knowledge of Routing, Security, firewalls.
• Knowledge on Remote management software and routing protocols like OSPF, EIGRP, BGP.
• Basic Connectivity checks of LAN, Problem rectification etc.
• Ability to identify hardware problems (Display, SMPS, RAM and Motherboard)
• Analyzing and critical thinking
• Time management and Interpersonal skills

Performance Objectives/Job Duties :

• Fully support, configure, maintain and upgrade corporate customer’s networks and in house servers
• Install and integrate new server hardware and applications
• Keep an eye out for needed updates
• Support and administer third-party applications
• Ensure network security and connectivity
• Monitor network performance (availability, utilization, throughput, goodput, and latency) and test for weaknesses
• Set up user accounts, permissions and passwords
• Resolve problems reported by end user
• Define network policies and procedures
• Specify system requirements and design solutions
• Research and make recommendations on server system administration

Network Administrator is responsible for the following tasks :

• Installing network and computer systems
• Maintaining, repairing and upgrading network and computer systems
• Diagnosing and fixing problems or potential problems with the network and its hardware, software and systems
• Monitoring network and systems to improve performance
