To support this growth, SpecialtyCare works with hospitals across the nation to provide Minimally Invasive Surgical Support (MISS) that enhances patient outcomes, increases surgeon satisfaction and ensures quality.

We work in partnership with our hospital customers to integrate technical expertise for the demands of the Operating Room (OR). We are interested in individuals who have experience delivering excellent customer service and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment.  We are looking for the right candidate to join our team as a Clinical Technician to work as part of the OR team to positively impact efficiency.

SUMMARY

This position is a resource to provide support services for surgical procedures to help improve the quality, productivity and service levels of the procedures. This position acts as a liaison working in symbiotic collaboration together with the OR and Sterile Processing departments. Responsible for service delivery excellence to meet the hospital’s patient care needs and surgeons’ expectations.

As a Clinical Technician, you will positively impact the efficiency of the OR by:

·         Assisting the operating room staff in preparing the operative suite for surgery.

·         Providing logistical and technical support for laparoscopic and endoscopic surgeries.

·         Setting up, troubleshooting and maintaining all minimally invasive equipment, including video systems, before, during and after surgeries.

·         Managing the maintenance, care, cleaning and repair of instrumentation and equipment.

·         Interacting with physicians to ensure all preferences are met.

·         Troubleshooting during the surgical procedure to quickly resolve issues.

While this role does not have direct patient contact/direct patient care, it impacts patient care outcomes.

Requirements

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

·         Certified scrub technician and/or two years of scrub experience, and/or two years of clinical experience in a hospital or operating room setting.

·         Previous related medical experience or completion of related medical/science/nursing college level courses, certificate or degree preferred.

·         Knowledge of OR and Sterile Processing environments, surgical procedures and instrumentation is preferred.

·         High School diploma required at minimum.

·         Strong customer interfacing skills required. Previous experience in customer service is highly desirable.

·         Must have basic computer skills.

·         Demonstrated success in working with physicians.

·         Must live within 30 minutes of our contracted hospitals.

·         Ability to work flexible hours and participate in a call rotation including weekends/holidays.

·         Reliable transportation and the ability to be on-call.

·         Must be able to successfully complete on the job training including certification and company sponsored education modules.
