Founded in 2002 at Stanford University, Digital Media Academy is known for its premiere summer programs hosted at prestigious campuses. DMA provides hands- on, project-based learning experiences in a broad range of digital arts, media and technology topics.

  • Canada - DMA is not a visa sponsoring organization. Applicants for Canadian sites must be eligible to work in Canada (Canadian citizenship, proof of existing work permit, work visa, etc)

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • Leadership: Whether it’s in front of a classroom, on the soccer field, or behind-the-scenes, were looking for people who can guide our students, work independently, and support the whole team
  • Passion for Working with Kids: DMA is an innovative learning community, where curiosity is sparked. Our staff must embody these aspects of camp and serve as role models
  • Creativity: The DMA experience is all about sparking creativity in the students and staff. We need people who will bring their energy and talents to giving each campus location their own positive personality
  • Summer Availability: Residential Camp Counselors must be available for the entire duration of their scheduled program(s).

RESIDENTIAL TEAM: CAMP COUNSELORS

Camp Counselors lead camp activities for campers in the evening and weekends. Available at the following locations only: Stanford, San Francisco State University, UC San Diego, U.Washington, U.Chicago, Northwestern, Austin, U.Houston, Duke, GWU, and Toronto. Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting in location set-up, teardown, and product inventory/assessment
  • Supervising overnight campers at all times in a safe, community-based environment
  • Communicating daily with the Program Director and Regional Director
  • Attending weekly operational meetings to communicate any concerns/ideas and prepare for the next week
  • Organizing and participating in weekly camper check-in, nightly activities, and community building exercises
  • Assisting with administrative tasks. Duties will vary per location
  • Administering medications and maintain detailed records
  • Remaining on campus every evening and throughout the night
  • Working through the weekend when campers are present. Weekend work includes organizing and leading approved off-campus excursions

COMPENSATION

Camp Counselor positions compensate $400/wk + the cost of housing and meals at the location, which are covered by DMA.
