Founded in 2002 at Stanford University, Digital Media Academy is known for its premiere summer programs hosted at prestigious campuses. DMA provides hands- on, project-based learning experiences in a broad range of digital arts, media and technology topics.

SPECIFIC CAMP POSITIONS - NOTE: Compensation is commensurate with experience and qualifications

·INSTRUCTOR - Leads and instructs specific DMA courses. We are especially interested in candidates with backgrounds in graphic design, electronic music production, photography, filmmaking, game development, computer science or computer/electrical/mechanical engineering. Candidates with any of the following proficiencies are highly encouraged to apply:

Programming

  • Processing IDE, Eclipse, Java, Android SDK, Android Studio

  • Xcode, iOS and Swift

  • Python, TensorFlow, Neural Networks, Computer Networking, Microsoft Excel

  • Scratch, ScratchJr., Hopscotch (classes using this software are geared towards ages 6-12 only)

Game Design/Development

  • Game Salad, Adobe Photoshop

  • Minecraft, Forge, Java

  • C# and Unity, Google Cardboard, Oculus Rift

  • Roblox, Roblox Studio

  • Stencyl, iOS, Thunkable

3D Printing & Engineering

CORE INSTRUCTIONAL & SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Teach key concepts in a variety of formats: hands-on, direct instruction, group work and one-on-one with students

  • Utilize DMA provided curriculum and resources, ensuring an organized, fun, and rewarding experience for students

  • Teach with passion, structure and expertise while guiding students through the completion of a personal project

  • Depending on the size and scope of the class, collaborate with and oversee one or more Assistant Instructors/TA’s who will assist with group project work, one-on-one with students and/or a sub-group of students during the week

  • Take part in weekly staff meetings, to occur before and/or after camp on a designated day each week

  • Assist with set up before camp starts and classroom turnover at the end of each week as necessary

  • Assist with student check in and orientation on Monday mornings

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • Leadership: Whether it’s in front of a classroom, on the soccer field, or behind-the-scenes, were looking for people who can guide our students, work independently, and support the whole team

  • Passion for Working with Kids: DMA is an innovative learning community, where curiosity is sparked. Our staff must embody these aspects of camp and serve as role models

  • Creativity: The DMA experience is all about sparking creativity in the students and staff. We need people who will bring their energy and talents to giving each campus location their own positive personality

  • Summer Availability: Instructor and TA staff must be available a minimum of 2 weeks. DMA may provide up to a maximum of 8 weeks of employment contingent on location and program schedule. Operational and residential staff must be available for the entire duration of their scheduled program(s).
