Programming

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

TAs assist in the instruction of specific DMA courses and out of class activities. TAs must have some level of expertise in the subject matter of their designated course (see proficiency list above). Core responsibilities include:

  • Assisting in a designated course as needed throughout the day and week.
  • Working with students in small groups, as well as one-on-one, to help them learn concepts and complete projects
  • Working closely with the program directors, lead instructors, and other TAs to foster a fun, rewarding, and positive learning environment
  • Completing tasks provided by the Lead Instructor efficiently and effectively
  • Helping to facilitate and lead (recreational and character building) non-tech activities for students during break time
  • Providing troubleshooting support for systems and other hardware in the classroom
  • Maintaining the safe and fun atmosphere of the DMA experience by constantly assessing group dynamics and the needs of individuals
  • Assisting with set-up before camp starts and classroom turnover at the end of each week as necessary
  • Assisting with break-down after camp ends
  • Assisting with student check-in and orientation on Monday mornings

COMPENSATION

Compensation is commensurate with qualifications and experience. Salary is paid weekly. Base TA salary for applicants enrolled in school at the time of application is $550/wk.
