The search for Bay Cliff Health Camp’s 6 th Executive Director is
underway. We seek an experienced leader with a heart for the physically
disabled who can join us in Big Bay, Michigan.
Bay Cliff is a premier year-round, non-profit therapy and wellness center for
children and adults with physical disabilities. The next Executive Director
will inherit and build upon an extremely successful health camp that has been
in operation for 84 years. The ideal Executive Director candidates are dynamic
in their ability to cultivate strategic, collaborative partnerships and
overcome obstacles. Candidates will have good character, a deep understanding
of leadership, an engaging and social demeanor, and the ability to deliver
measurable results.
To be successful in this role, the new Executive Director will fundraise,
influence, build relationships and persistently explore opportunities to
improve the organization. This position reports to a Board of Directors.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR.

Proactively lead fundraising efforts through mailings, social media, newsletters, phone calls and face-to-face meetings in support of annual giving, capital campaign and major gift programs.

Collaborate with our Board to meet strategic goals, promote the organization, support Board development and recruit high quality individuals to serve as Board members.

Work closely with the Finance Committee and its subcommittees to develop and oversee a balanced annual budget and fiscal plan to include monitoring of revenue & expenses, payables, cashflows, investments, and building renovation/construction needs.

Work closely with professionals to insure and manage risk, comply with legal and regulatory obligations, and provide audited reports to constituents.

Successfully network and nurture relationships in the community with businesses, organizations, foundations and individuals to encourage generous financial support.

Hire, supervise and evaluate Camp Director and all administrative and facility staff; assist Camp Director with personnel management.

Create and continue awareness of Bay Cliff by being active and visible in the community, marketing, and developing relationships with the media.

Maintain and plan appropriate use of Bay Cliff’s facility, property and equipment consistent with safety standards and Federal/State/local licensing requirements.
COMPENSATION/BENEFITS. $70,000 - $90,000 annually, based on your knowledge
and experience, in addition to a comprehensive benefit package.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE IDEAL EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR.

Bachelor’s degree or higher, preferred.

Broad leadership, management and supervisory experience with a documented track record of success.

Proven experience with fundraising strategies and donor relations.

Strong background in financial management and budgeting.

Proven ability to forge relationships with Board members, staff, volunteers and donors.

Excellent listening, communication (verbal & written), presentation, problem solving, and time management skills with a record of sound business logic.

Willingness and ability to travel nationally and throughout Michigan’s Upper Peninsula to be the voice and face of Bay Cliff.

Willingness and ability to relocate to Marquette, Michigan or the surrounding area.
