Job Summary:
The position of Program Assistant in the English Language Center (ELC Program
Assistant) is primarily responsible for providing administrative support to
the English language Center Programs. As part of an inter- and intra-
departmental coordination team in the Center for Global Engagement (CGE), the
ELC Program Assistant is responsible for maintaining strong professional
relationships with administrative personnel in other departments, both within
and outside the CGE, including but not limited to personnel in plant and
construction services, controller’s and finance offices, registrar’s and
student accounts. Collaborate with CGE around international student support,
recruitment and retention of ESL, undergraduate, exchange/visiting,
sabbatical, graduate, law, and PhD students.

Minimum Qualifications:
• High School diploma or Associate’s Degree from an accredited institution.
• Three to five years of general secretarial/administrative support
experience.
• Must be highly motivated, and able to work in a fast-paced, student-centered
environment.
• Strong intercultural and interpersonal communication skills in order to work
effectively with faculty, staff, students, alumni, and the general public from
around the world, and with varying degrees of English proficiency.
• Demonstrated organizational and multi-tasking skills proficiency in major
software programs, including Excel, Publisher, Outlook, Access and Word.
• Evidence of the ability to learn other specialized software programs.
• Must be eligible to serve as a Designated School Official
Desired Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Experience with individuals from varied cultural backgrounds
• Work experience in a higher education setting
• Experience with SCT/BANNER (specifically Banner Finance), NOLIJ, ACCESS
• Experience maintaining budgets
• Proficiency in as second language
