**
Manages and coordinates all capital project quality management activities of
office staff and consultants. Ensures compliance with contract specifications
and the quality control plan. Provides technical expertise in construction of
Rail, BRT and other facilities within UTA. Reviews project design criteria,
specifications, and design activities for all projects in Capital Development
Department. Assists in development and preparation of UTA Capital Development
Construction Manual and Specifications used during construction. Manages
Quality Oversight process for various projects; observes and evaluates
departmental performance to ensure contract compliance. Documents any
discrepancies and assures proper disposition. Interacts with local and
federal agencies and general public on community needs and expectations.
Provides technical expertise in the creation and review of UTA design criteria
and specifications for Capital Development projects. Manages and coordinates
construction quality activities of office staff, consultants, and contractors.
Provides technical expertise in creating and reviewing project design criteria
and design activities for projects in Capital Development. Participates with
other UTA departments and contractors in the planning of new infrastructure
and vehicle activation and systems integration activities.
EDUCATION/TRAINING: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction
Management or equivalent course of study. Required education may be replaced
with equivalent experience with a Grade 1 Railroad in construction or
maintenance and/or experience in Construction or Quality Management.
Professional Engineering (PE) registration/certification in the state of Utah
preferred.
EXPERIENCE: Seven years progressive project management and oversight in the
heavy transportation construction industry. Railroad experience in
construction management, oversight and/or management experience on major
projects is a plus.
