A research assistant position is immediately available in The Translational Research Center for TBI and Stress Disorders (TRACTS) at VA Boston under the direction of David Salat. The primary responsibilities of the position include image data acquisition, processing, and analysis. The candidate should have a background in engineering, computer science, neuroimaging, or a related discipline. The candidate would be expected to work with large datasets and therefore should have strong technical skills including scripting and data management. The individual would work with a large team as well as research participants. Prior programming, image processing, and/or physiological measurement experience would be beneficial. The individual in this position would be expected to learn to use Linux based software for data processing as well as operation of the MRI console and how to use various hardware for physiological measurement and brain imaging. The candidate should therefore be highly motivated to learn new procedures and skills.
