Juniper Systems, Inc is the leading designer and manufacturer of the world’s most rugged handhelds. We have an immediate opening for a full-time Systems Administrator .  This position will work with key individuals and internal IT staff to support existing and new hardware / software systems. They will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and resolving hardware, software, and network issues.  They will also be responsible for managing physical and virtual server environments by deploying and maintaining operating system software, patches, and upgrades.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain network servers, setting up and maintaining operating systems software, patches and upgrades in physical and virtual environments
  • Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve system hardware, software, and networking issues throughout the network environment
  • Maintain system backups and recovery
  • Administering the operation of LAN/WAN-related network services and devices
  • Assist IT department in operation of computers, local area network(s), and other office equipment
  • All other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • Requires a **** bachelor’s degree in computer science, MIS, or related field; or equivalent experience. Additionally, this position requires a minimum of 3 years of IT experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of executives, managers, and subject matter experts
  • Experience in deploying and managing server operating systems ****
  • Experience in managing and maintaining network infrastructures, including switches, firewalls, routers, VLANs, etc.

Additional Desired Skills:

  • Microsoft Server OS experience, Microsoft Active Directory, MS SQL, MS Exchange, O365
  • System Security experience
  • Ability to complete assignments with minimal supervision

Working Hours and Conditions: Normal 40 hours per week, 8-5 Monday through Friday, normal time off for company holidays. Weekend and night time work may be required. Occasional travel may be required, typically less than two weeks per year, for seminars, training, and exploration of new business software, systems, and technology. This position requires sitting for extended periods of time and use of hands. Requires the ability to see and speak.
