Smead Manufacturing is seeking applicants for a “Drafter/Designer Intern” position opening March 2018 to work 20hrs/week during the school year and up to 40 hrs/week during summers.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Drawing and dimensioning machine replacement parts for fabrication

  • Designing matching upgrades (mechanical parts and assemblies0

  • Photographing and documenting improvements to manufacturing processes

  • Seeing projects from beginning to end

  • Updating and maintaining facility drawings

Interns will be trained to use:

  • Auto-CAD

  • Audodesk Inventor

  • Microsoft Office (Word and Excel)

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Enrollment in CAD/CAM Major or Minor programs at Southern Utah University

  • Accepting applications with an expected graduation date of May 2020 or later

  • Experience with the above software is a plus
